Customers praised this double-walled ceramic mug for its "beautiful" design, excellent insulation, and quality construction with a copper bottom. The 12oz capacity suits pour-over routines well. However, several shoppers noted it's quite large and heavy, requiring two hands to hold comfortably. The smooth, matte exterior can be slippery. Some concerns about sizing for smaller hands and quality control issues with base.

Beautiful

Really nice quality! They are big so I need to use two hands to drink my coffee but I love them. They keep the coffee hot and are quite beautiful. They match all my matte black fellow grinder, kettles and Clara French press.

LoveThis Mug

Excellent quality and it looks even better in person than in photos. The copper bottom looks great on the black mug.

Great Mug

I love all the fellow products. I wanted a nice mug for my pour over routine and this fits the bill. The larger size is great for my 20 gram doses. Going to buy a white one for my wife.

Excellent quality, super solid and beautiful feature with the metal bottom. The coffee definitely tastes better with these cups!

Fellow Joey Mug

Highly satisfied, The Joey cups perform as advertised. These double sided mugs do a great job of keeping coffee warm for longer. And they look good too!

If there's one thing that would improve them: Make them dishwasher safe.

Poor Quality Control

The mug itself it large, solid, and hefty. It does a good job insulating. However, there seems to be some issues with quality control from Fellow on these. The base of the mug is uneven, causing a fair sized gap between the base and the ceramic. This creates a strange flex in the base. Additionally, water can get stuck in here and I imagine it will effect the adhesive and cause long term issues.

Favorite Mug

While this mug is over the top with how heavy and big it is I do not complain. It keeps my coffee warm for longer than I would think and is always a conversation starter when I give it to guests

Big Jo (12oz) too Big Size for my little hands

A few months ago I purchased a Fellow Cater Everywhere Mug (16oz) and found this vessel was all what has been said previously about it, notably it holds one’s hot beverage (coffee in my case) very warm for a very long time. That aspect plus the quality of this Fellow unit made me want to purchase a complimentary Fellow mug product since I prefer to drink my coffee is a small mug, small quantities at a time but keeping my remaining brew warm, in my case in the Carter 16 oz.

Not having seen in person the Fellow Big Jo Mug (12oz) nor its little sister the “Joey” Mug (8 oz), I decided to purchase both mugs recently. Although I had read several reviews about both mug sizes I was unprepared for the actual size and weight (451 - 456 gms) of the mugs. The 12 oz Big Joey is really big and for my hand size (thumb tip to index finger tip = 6 inches) I cannot properly grip or hold the Big Joey (12 oz), I can however with the Little Joey (8oz).

One other feature that one has to also consider is that the exterior of both these mugs are extremely smooth and I found I was wanting to have something that would provide me with a sure grip on the outside, having hot coffee inside the mug made me apprehensive about dropping the mugs. (I came up with a quick cheap solution, although not pretty, but it does the trick)

My summary is that both the 12 oz Big Joey and the 8 oz Little Joey are beautiful mugs, but the 12 oz is really too big for my hands and I will probably not use it. Also, having in my possession the 8oz Little Joey, this is the perfect capacity mug for my coffee. The smoothness of the exterior of the Big JO and Little Joey was also a concern for me, another item to keep in mind.

Good, but...

It's a really nice looking mug and the double walled design does keep the coffee warmer than a regular mug albeit not for long. The downside is it's large - I'm 5'-11" and 175 pounds and have to use both hands to pick it up. I hand wash my coffee gear so hand washing is no issue for me; I seem to recall seeing on the box that it is not supposed to be submerged in water which, if true, is silly but there is no mention of not submerging it on Fellow's website; I have submerged it with no apparent harm. I tried Bartender's Friend on the very bottom of the base to see if it would make the copper shine, it scratched the finish so beware of such cleaners. I'm lukewarm to this mug: I like the appearance a lot but a two-handed mug is a nuisance to drink from. I don't regret buying it and will use it in rotation, it works well with the Hario Switch, but not as often as my other cups and mugs. I got a 14 oz. Ember Mug2 as a gift and that's my go-to right now.

Beauty comes at a cost

Ordered the black and copper one. It looks absolutely stunning, but due to the matte finish and how wide it is, it is very awkward to grasp. Definitely a form over function piece. It's great if you have large hands, but just be careful when picking it up.

Great Mugs, Great Service

These beautifully made mugs are excellent for both cold and hot lattes. Purchased one of each color and they are quite beautiful

Nice mugs, poor service

I ordered one white and one black. Instead I received two white mugs. Sent an email and never got a response. The mugs are beautiful.

Great mug

It's bigger than I thought but it's very nice and elegant.

lovely mug

I love this mug with the Chemex single-brewer... no heat loss with coffee brewed right into this gorgeous, double-walled mug. I have a white and black mug and the white one does stain a little inside so you have to polish it out every once in while... by comparison, the black one doesn't have that issue.

Fellow Big Jo

I gifted these mugs to my siblings who are loving them!! The weight, material and overall design is excellent! Wouldn’t expect less from Fellow!

Simple yet elegant

I guess this is the common theme with Fellow products. While the design is minimal, the price is more on the maximum. Nonetheless it is a very nice piece and great conversation starter.

So Good I Bought Two!!

I bought the black one (drinking out of it now) and then my wife saw it and had to have one. So I bought her a white one! Super stylish. New fave mugs! One downside is that it is pretty heavy. Maybe not a downside but it’s a consideration for some I suppose.

Beautiful

This is a great mug and I use it daily. However, keep in mind that it’s quite heavy and with no handle the weight makes it a bit awkward. Not a deal breaker but you need to know that before ordering. It’s not dishwasher safe so be carful to hand wash only or you’ll wreck the copper bottom. Other than that it’s awesome. My wife saw my black one and immediately wanted a white one for herself so I ordered that too. ;-)

Big honkin dandy

This is a really nice looking, solid coffee mug-ish. I don't call it a mug because it lacks a handle. But fear not, you won't burn your salad fingers because it's double-walled. It's definitely a conversation starter..just be careful drinking from it after eating greasy finger food, or you'll likely be out over 40 dollars after it crashes to the floor. It's quite slippery! It might work better as a fancy flower pot...

Looks Nice!

I don't use it as much as I used to. Not because it's a bad mug.. but because it's too big for my small hands. Looks great though and perfect for guests
